Les Caves Mungust is a family winery that has a long history dating back to the nineteenth century. Centuries-old vineyards and machinery from the time certify this antiquity. It was at the end of the eighties, the beginning of the nineties, when Pere Munné opened the current winery in Sant Jaume Sesoliveres, a town in the municipality of Piera (Anoia), and enthusiastically resumed the production of wines and cavas. The name of the winery Mungust is due to the two surnames of the Munné and Gustems couple, and is carried today by his son-in-law, Ferran Anglès Bonet, who works there part-time and combines it with his work as a schoolteacher. They maintain a three-hectare vineyard planted with the white varieties Macabeo and Parellada and the red Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. From these fruits they produce up to six commercial brands of cava and the wines (white, red and red aged, rested in oak barrels) that they sell right there. A visit can be made, by appointment and on weekends.
