Drowned Beans

Vegetables

    • 1 1/4 kg of shelled beans
    • 4 slices of carved bacon
    • 1 piece of boil
    • 1 chopped spring onion
    • 2 minced garlic tender
    • 1 bunch of fresh mint
    • 1 bay leaf
    • Oil
    • Salt
    • Pepper
    • Water

    • Preparation

      In a pot roast the bacon, garlic and onion.
      Once sautéed, add the beans, herbs and boil.
      Add a cup of water and season with salt and pepper.
      Cover with a deep dish with water and leave on low heat until the beans are cooked.

      Variations:
      It can be made with dried onions and garlic.
      Ripe tomato and pork chop can be added to the sofrito.
      It can be made with peas as well as beans (smothered peas and beans).
      You can put marjoram in addition to mint.
      It is also made with green beans with buckle, parades and chopped.
      At the end of cooking, a drizzle of anise or half a glass of mixture (muscat and brandy) can be poured.
      You can add a piece of chorizo or sobrasada.
